"Quotes"

Ashley at Lil Blue Boo had a fabulous quote on her blog today. Okay, she has them a lot, but today I felt like I wanted to share it with you...

I liked the photo with the quote so much I decided to visit the website that it came from and found a bunch more that I wanted to share. So, this is a randomness post, but hopefully you enjoy the quotes!

Abby's freind...

Yesterday Jordan had the opportunity to go to Joplin, MO and help with the clean-up effort. One of the guys he deployed with is from Joplin and still has lots of family and friends there, so Jordan and another guy didn't think twice about loading the Tahoe up with water and chain saws and driving down. Of course they didn't ~ not only was a friend in need, but I think all boys have a little "hero" in them ;)

Anyways, while Jordan was away, Abby and I played. We started our Sunday at church and then after a nap (for Abby only, unfortunately) I surprised Abby with a play date! Her best friend from Pam's invited us over to run in the sprinkler and play in the pool. Loren and Abby are adorable ~ I had my first opportunity to watch them play at Loren's 4th Birthday party a couple weeks ago (at Wonderscope). It was so fun to sit back and watch her with her friends.  She is really growing up quick and she's becoming a pretty amazing little girl, if I do say so myself.

Here are a few pictures of Abby and her friend Loren, sent to me by Loren's mommy, as my camera still has a dead battery (seriously, how can a charger be so hard to find?!)...

Wow... it's been a LONG time!

So yeah, it's been a LONG time since I've blogged, and I apologize. Life has been crazy, though I'm not sure why. Lots of babies have been born ~ my niece Annie, and two friends' babies ~ Carly and Stella. Okay, I realize (for those of you who know these people) these babies were born in February and March, but I haven't posted pictures or blogged about it.

These little girls are beautiful ~ all three of them! And, Abigail LOVES them ~ all three of them! It's pretty incredible. She loved looking at them, holding them, kissing them, I could go on and on.

We've had dinner with friends...

Bear, Abs and Rea-Rea

Super cute outfit, not sure about the silly smile, though!

My sister got married in early April and it was a beautiful ceremony! Her photographer, Tree Jacobson, was AMAZING! My camera was dead, but honestly, her photographer was so good, that I don't care. This is the awesome slide show of the wedding pictures! Aren't they great!?

And, this one was playing at the reception (there are a couple pictures of Allison and I, and I think Abby looks a lot like her mama!).

{I tried to embed the slide shows into this blog post, but I couldn't figure it out ~ sorry!}

We went to Mercer for Easter, and Abigail had SO much fun playing with Mason. They are finally at the age where they can play together and it was adorable! They hunted for eggs and flew kites. My camera was still dead, so again, no pictures. My sister-in-law is getting me pictures, so until then, you'll just have to take my word for it on how cute these kiddos are!

Okay, I am promising to be better at updating the blog (and am searching for the charger for my camera battery).

MONSTER cookies

Monsters have been a hot topic in our house lately. Ever since Sesame Street Live, they are all Abigail can talk about. This weekend Jordan was home (more about that to come), we went to the planetarium and saw "One World, One Sky, Big Birds Great Adventure" at Union Station. Besides the fact that it was a really cool show, Abigail got to see her favorite Monsters (again)!

*Side note: She now says she wants to be an Astronaut. She said she wants to walk on the moon, and I told her the only way to do that was to become an Astronaut.

Tonight it was snowing and the weather was overall, monsterous, so we decided to make some MONSTER cookies!!

I absolutely LOVE my mom's monster cookie recipe and guess what? It's gluten free!! That's a plus, because one of my best friends has Ciliac's, so she can actually eat these! Yea! :)

The recipe:

3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 1/4 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter
1 tsp vanilla
1tsp corn syrup
1 1/2 cup peanut butter
2 tsp baking soda
4 1/2 cups oatmeal
2/3 cup chocolate chips (I use mini ones)
1/4 lb M&M's ~ I really like Reese's Pieces better!

YUMMY! We had Valentine's Day M's to use up, or I would have made them w/Reece's Pieces

Okay, so you simply cream the softened butter with the sugars. Then add the eggs, vanilla, syrup and peanut butter and mix well. This is where you employ your mini chef ~ mine is very good at adding peanut butter and brown sugar. Next you add the soda and oatmeal and mix (again, my mini chef is really good at adding oatmeal). Finally fold in the chocolate chips and candy. Bake at 350 for 10-15min.

The dough ~ YUM!

My mini-chef did a great job at adding ingredients and doing quality checks at the end :)

The finished product!

Little Adventures!

Tonight Abby and I were looking at pictures and I realized that we've had a couple little adventures and I haven't blogged about them. So, here I go! :)

The first adventure was to Wonderscope Children's Museum in Shawnee. It is really cute and has so many fun activities for the kiddos. We met Abby's friend Brodie there (I work with his mommy) and the kids had SO much fun playing together!

Abigail in the "golf ball room". It was full of fun physics experiments to do with golf balls!

Feeding the calf!

Picking vegetables

Shopping!

Abby and Brodie playing in the water room.

In the lego /space area. There was a space shuttle made of legos. Seriously cool!

After playing at Wonderscope the kids were starving. So, we took them to Applebees. They were both really good and sat while eating really well. After they were finished they both climbed under the table:

chatting :)

Our second adventure (and last) was to Little Monkey Business. Again, in Shawnee. Abby (and Jordan!) had been there before, but I had not. It was pretty amazing. We arrived at 9:30AM (they opened at 9) and we saw SO many people that we knew (even our pediatrician was there!). By 11:30 the place was packed. Kids everywhere, frazzled parents running around, it was a site! We left shortly after :)

Riding the car (so she says)

climbing

Riding on the fun "swings"

In the bounce house with daddy.
It was very difficult to get her out of this thing!

SO happy!
Okay, that's it for today! (two posts in two days! YEA!)

Lately...

I've been spending my time with my little family. We had an amazing Christmas... time with family and friends. I promise there will be pictures coming soon!

The biggest news we have to share is that Abigail is potty trained!! We stayed here for Christmas, I had 4 days off in a row, and Jordan decided Abigail's Christmas present to mommy and daddy was going to be getting rid of the diapers. SO we started on Christmas Eve and, honestly, by the time I went back to work on Tuesday, she was doing great! We've had our moments, and accidents, but she's been doing amazingly well. She has been sleeping in panties since night #3 and has only had 1 accident.

This little girl never ceases to amaze me!

(Pictures to come, I promise!)
