A whirl wind weekend!

This is what I woke up to Saturday morning.

Abigail and I had a very full weekend. Saturday morning we made our way to Maryville for a friend's babyshower. I went to college with this friend and we danced together. She is really an inspiration to me and is the person who brought me out of my shell and motivated me into a leadership position with the Dance Company (which was her baby). I hadn't seen her since she got pregnant and the baby is due in July. We're really excited for her - she's having a girl. We decided Abigail and Mattie (that's what they're naming her) will be little dancers together.

(we had a picture with Abigail, but grandma-to-be has it on her camera ~ dang!)

As I was getting ready Jordan and Abigail were playing downstairs. When I came down, after getting ready, I could hear Abigail squealing with delight. This is what I walked in on...

So happy!!

Sunday afternoon a really good friend of mine from Nebraska stopped by with his wife and daughter. Keith and I grew up together, in fact his mom babysat me for the first few years of my life (we even had chicken pox "together"). The girls got along really well and I'm looking forward to the day that they are playing together!

New things...

Abigail's 6month appointment was on Monday (I know, I know, we've been busy!) and her doctor gave the go ahead to start eating meats (2nd foods) and said that she can have saltine and grahm crackers, as well as... puffs!

I don't know about any of you, but have you seen/smelled baby food meats?! They're disgusting! She tried "turkey in turkey gravy"... it is a pasty cream color and smells very much like caned cat food. Yuck! Pam, Abigail's babysitter, suggested mixing the meats with applesauce or some other fruit, so we tried that. I let Abby try the meat by itself and she made a really funny face (unfortunately Jordan wasn't home to take a picture). I mixed it with blueberry applesauce (really tasty) and she downed at least 1/3 of the jar (of the turkey!).

Here is a video of Abby eating a sweet potato puff. It's really cute b/c she kinda chases them around the tray (her hand-eye-coordination is still developing) but does great once she catches them.

A visit

My cousin had a few days off and decided to take a road trip to Nebraska. On her way back to her mom and dad's house she stopped by to visit us and meet Abigail. Here are some pictures that she took...

Happy Spring!

Abigail recieved this adorable diaper cover and I had big plans for her to wear it for Easter pictures, on Easter. As we all know it wasn't very warm on Easter - it was cold, really - so we took the pictures on Friday..

Pictures...

My nephew came to visit on Saturday and we had pictures taken of him and Abigail. A preview of all of the amazing pictures can be found here. This lady is amazing, oh by-the-way. She did a great job getting the kids to smile - according to Megan these are the first professional photos that Mason has smiled in (YEA!) and I can't wait to see the rest!

A photo shoot with daddy...

As I've said before we take lots and lots of pictures of Abigail, constantly! The last couple nights Jordan has had a "mini-photo shoot" with Abby. Here are some pictures from them!!

Wonderful friends, exciting evening!

Tonight some great friends stopped by... Dan is deployed to Afghanistan and home on his two week leave. We were lucky enough to have him and his wonderful wife Jennifer stop by. Their families live in Wichita and they were on their way back to St. Louis (where they live now), so decided to stop by and see us. We feel so blessed to have them spend some of their precious time with us! We took them to our favorite sushi/hibachi restaurant. Abigail had a ball and really took to Dan. He has to go back to Afghanistan for seven more months, (we're really going to miss him!!) so he and Jennifer will be in our thoughts and prayers.

While we were at dinner Abigail had a couple of firsts... she was sitting on Dan's lap talking to Jordan and said "dadada"!! Of course she doesn't know that "dada" is Jordan, but it was so exciting! Tonight is the first night she's started really using consonants in her babble and it's pretty fun. Abby's really started to grab for things and reach out... Also during dinner (and on Dan's lap) she was kicking and waving her arms and got her hands in the soy sauce. Before we could grab her hands she had one of them in her mouth! I wish I could have captured the look on her face on film because it was sooo funny! She also tasted green tea ice cream tonight ~ intentionally. That face wasn't so odd and she took the spoon away from Jordan and kept tasting it. Here are some pictures from the evening...

Right after the soy sauce... notice the dirty napkin and Dan's laugh!

Happy Birthday to me! And, Easter to everyone!!

This weekend we went to Nebraska and had a very relaxing time! We had lots of visitors all weekend long... some very good friends of the family stopped by, as well as my grandparents. Saturday was my birthday, so my parents babysat while Jordan and I went to dinner with some of our friends. We had a great time and Abigail enjoyed spending a little quality time with Grandpa and Grandma. Here are some pictures from Saturday...

Today my mom made Easter dinner and a lot of our family was there. It was really great to see everyone and Abigail got TONS of attention (imagine that!). I had big plans to take some really adorable Easter pictures, but it was too cold to take them outside, so hopefully one night this week the weather will cooperate and we'll get to take them a couple days late!
