We miss daddy... and we're eatin' carrots now!

Jordan has been at Ft. Sill, OK for seven days now. I can tell that Abigail really misses him, and I do too ~ like crazy! It's very strange to not have him here, but yeah, enough about me!

My parents and sister came to visit this weekend. We did a little shopping and went to eat with some good friends at Jazz. Abigail loves having Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Allison here, as she gets to play with new people, get new clothes (they always bring presents) and have her picture taken a lot :) We had a really great time and it was nice to have a little help in the middle of Jordan being gone!

Playin' in the Rainforest bouncer...

Playing with Aunt Allison and lovin' it!

Tonight we went to Sam's Club to get diapers with my friend Lori. It seems that no matter where I look for diapers on sale, Sam's always has them cheapest! After that we came home and had oatmeal and carrots. This was the first night for carrots and she did great. She wasn't overly sure of them at first, but ended up eating them like a champ!

The carrot initial face...

Okay, I like this! (But, my fingers are still better!)

Yummy Peas!!

We have started solid foods at our house, and Abigail LOVES sweet peas! It's so funny... she will open up her mouth for the peas, but not the cereal. Personally, I think the peas are kinda gross, but she seems to really like them. Here are a few pictures ~ I got my new camera!!

Smilin'... she can see the peas coming (Mommy disguised some cereal in the peas)...

A bit messy

Lovin' her glow worm...
Kind of a random picture, but she loves this thing. We try to only get it out when we're at restaurants and stuff, so it's "new". It will quiet her down in seconds. It's pretty incredible!

Four months old already?!

Yesterday was Abigail's four month doctor's appointment and she's doing great! She got more shots, which are never fun, but she did really well. She now weighs 13lbs 12.8oz (50%) and 24in (60%). She's rolling over both ways now (although back to front is mostly done in secret), she smiles constantly and talks all the time. She really is a lot of fun these days :)

We started eating "solid foods"... we've had rice cereal, sweet potatoes and sweet peas. The pictures and video are on the video camera and I don't know how to get them off, so they will have to wait till Jordan gets home. My camera "died" a couple weeks ago and it is going to be over $200 to fix it, so I will be getting a new camera (hopefully this weekend? or soon!) and the posts with pictures will resume!!

Here is one from my phone from tonight:

A day at home with mom...

Today Abigail's babysitter had the day off, so she and I stayed home together. We baked sugar cookies (for her to take tomorrow for Valentine's Day) and had a great time. In the morning I put her on her back on a blanket on her floor to play and ran into my bathroom. When I came back she was on her tummy!! She hasn't rolled over again, and I didn't get to see it, but oh no!! Time to really watch out! She's rolled from her back almost over, but hadn't ever made it all the way before this morning... we're in trouble now!

One year ago today...

Our lives changed forever...

I was at a crime scene all day and didn't get home until 2030. Jordan and Wayne were playing videogames (probably Guitar Hero) and I went upstairs to take a shower. I decided to take a pregnancy test, "just in case". It turned positive!! I called for Jordan, and after waiting 5 minutes gave up and got in the shower.

Meanwhile Jordan is telling Wayne "you have to learn, there are times when women call and it's important that you go, and times when you just have to ignore them because they don't really need anything."

Jordan finally comes upstairs while I'm in the shower (freaking out) and I tell him to "look at the counter" (where I had the test laying). He says "I've never seen one of these before", to which I say "me neither" (duh!). We laughed and cried and freaked out together and now have the most beautiful little girl in the world!

A Phase??

What a cutie!!

I think Abigail is going through a phase... starting last Tuesday night (the second night Jordan was gone in a row) Abby wouldn't let me out of her sight! If I left the room without her, she cried. She was the most happy when I was carrying her around with me, but she had to be able to see... either holding her so she could see over my shoulder, or holding her facing out. Ever since that night she has been this way. Don't get me wrong, I love that she "wants us", but it's a bit difficult to get anything done! Yesterday this "phase" started at the babysitter, too. Let's hope that it's just a phase and she gets over it quickly!!

Saturday Abigail had a playdate :) Some friends from baby class had a daughter a couple days before Abby was born and we went to visit them. We had a lot of fun and it was great to see another baby her size. They didn't interact a whole lot, but kinda talked to each other for awhile. It was really cute and we (the parents) definitely enjoyed the social time! We'll be getting together with them a lot more often, I hope!

She has always had troubles with naps on the weekend, and this weekend, with her "clingyness" it was especially difficult. I finally got her to fall asleep on me Sunday afternoon and layed her down on a blanket on the floor (I tried on her back, but then she had to be on her side) and she slept for about an hour.

Finally asleep!
