Peed on and sleeping through the night??

Last night we gave Abigail a bath (normal) and afterwards wrapped her up in her cute towel (normal), took her up to her room to put on lotion, diaper, pj's (normal). I decided that Jordan needed to put lotion on her back and I would be brave and hold her ~ Mistake!! She peed on me, which really doesn't surprise me, but it soaked my shirt, pants, sock and got on the floor. Jordan and I were busting up laughing, and he couldn't get the towel to me in time to catch any of it.

We read to her and put her to bed about 8:30-9:00 and I expected her to wake up about 2 to eat again. Well at 4:30 I woke up and could hear her chewing on her hands through the monitor. She slept so great!! I couldn't hardly believe it! I don't know if this is a fluke or if she's really trying to sleep through the night...

Christmas Time!

~WARNING ~
This is going to be a long post with lots of pictures!

I just love Christmas time, but this year we didn't do a good job at decorating at all... having a baby makes everything just that much more complicated (but 100x better!). We didn't put lights up outside, and honestly, we're lucky we had a Christmas tree up at all. We said this is the last year for a real tree. I think you forget how much work and how big of a mess they are until you get one. So yeah, probably no real tree next year.

We just had a blast with Abigail! Of course she didn't help unwrap her gifts or anything like that (she's only two months old!) but she smiled and laughed, and everyone had so much fun with her.

We went to Mercer the weekend before Christmas where Abby met some of her extended family and we had Christmas with Jordan's family. She got lots of gifts and got to spend time with her cousin Mason (who is so cute and so much fun, also). We ate some really great food and had a wonderful time!

Jordan and I started a family tradition... on Christmas eve we get Christmas PJ's and wear them to bed, wake up to open presents with them on the next morning, and take a picture in front of the fireplace with 'em on. We figured that no matter where we move we'll always have a fireplace, so this should be a tradition we can easily make happen each year. I was a little stressed out shopping for Christmas PJ's this year, though. I didn't "think" of the idea until Christmas eve and by that point Target was pretty picked over. Jordan got us a video camera, which I'm really excited about. Now we'll just see how often we take videos and what we do with them!!

Later Christmas day we traveled to Nebraska and had Christmas with my mom, dad and sister Christmas night. Again, Abigail got spoiled and got a lot of fun gifts, including a Cabbage Patch doll, some John Deer clothes and Aunt Allison made her the neatest thing for her wall (I'm going to have to take a picture). Grandpa has some majic tricks up his sleeve ~ if Abigail cried all he had to do was sing her "Camp Town Races" and poof! she was better. It seemed to only work for him, though, Jordan and I tried it and we don't have the majic touch. The rest of the weekend was filled with family, food and fun. We really had a great time.

Merry Christmas (a week early)

I just had to share Abby's Christmas picture. I just love it! She's constantly sticking out her tongue. Last night we had a blast playing with her. Her and Jordan were "talking" and she was copying his facial expressions and smiling at the things he was doing, she even laughed for him!

Back to work...

Monday was my first day back to work... yes, I cried. I got teary eyed when I left her, and when I got in the car, I called Jordan and started crying. It was a little harder than I thought it would be. The day went by fairly quickly and she did great. The babysitter updates me through emails throughout the day and I only called once. When I got her home and opened her BundleMe she smiled at me! I loved it, of course. Everyday it's getting a little easier.

Next week Aunt Allison is going to stay with us Monday and Tuesday, so that will make coming back much easier. And, Wednesday a friend is going to watch her. Then Jordan and I will get to be with her for a long weekend. I think I chose the right time to come back... ease into it!

This weekend is Christmas with Jordan's family, so hopefully I'll have pictures up next week!

Such a good girl...

I had to update quick. Abby slept in her crib for the first time last night (12-10) and she did fantastic! She slept for about 5.5 hours and did great with "self soothing". My little baby's getting so big ~ I'm so glad she's doing so well! I go back to work on Monday and it's a huge relief to have her doing so well. She's taking a bottle like a champ and has just been such a great baby. We had lunch today and did some shopping with my friend Bethany and her son Brodie. We had a really good day. It was great to get out and get the remaining things we needed for day care.

I'm working on a project for my mom and Allison Christmas that has required me to look back at old pictures of myself (Jordan, too) and I thought I would share a couple... it's crazy how much Abby looks like me (Jordan, too in some of them).

Sick baby, sick cat... it's been a loong day!

My sweet little girl is sick. She's had a stuffy nose for awhile, but last night she started coughing and this morning the cough was getting out of control (just coughing a lot and it was a hacking cough). SO we went to the walk-in clinc at our pediatrician's office. Luckily the congestion hasn't settled in her chest yet. I have to give her nasal drops (lots of fun) and she has to sleep in her car seat (so she's upright and not laying flat). Poor thing ~ she sounds awful.

Last weekend, while we were traveling for Thanksgiving, Kudos got out of the house and got hit by a car. She seemed to be doing fine, but when we took her to the vet (because she hadn't used her litter box yet) we found out that her tail is paralyzed (the bones separated). Not only that but she hadn't gone #1 or #2 at all. SO they had to do some things to get the urine and feces out and Kudos stayed overnight until yesterday. We brought her home last night and she was acting great! Well, she still hadn't peed this morning, so we went back to the vet (before the pediatrician) and they used a needle to draw out her urine (for the third time) and gave us a prescription for a muscle relaxer... to relax her bladder so she can hopefully go on her own.

So yeah, I ran all over town today (we had to pick up Kudos' prescription at a pharmacy) and I'm exhausted! Jordan has drill this weekend, so of course that's when we have a million things to do! Okay, I'm done complaining now... I just hate hearing Abby's cough... it makes me so sad.

Thanksgiving Weekend...

We had a really busy Thanksgiving weekend, but it was great! We visited family in MO and NE and Abby got to meet her cousin for the first time! and lots of other family and friends. Jordan and I went to the Husker game Friday afternoon, it was his first Husker game. We had a blast and it was a really great game. Overall it was a great weekend, but we were definitely glad to get back home. Sunday night and Monday were a little rough for Abby ~ she was so used to being held! She's doing much better now and we're looking forward to the weekend! Once I get pictures from my parents I'll post more (she had a VERY cute fall bow and a lot of fun smiling/playing with Grandpa).
