40 weeks...

My due date is here. Will it come and go with no baby? At this point I'm going to guess yes, just like it came and went with Abigail.

I truly thought (and there is still time) that this little guy would come on his own. I've definitely had more symptoms this time, and I'm already farther progressed than I was the night before I was induced (an entire week late) with Abby.

Tuesday will be his birthday if he decides not to come before then. I realize that is 4 days away, and I have big plans to walk a lot between now and then. But, I've been doing that for some time now and nothin'. Only time will tell and one thing is for sure - this little man will be welcomed into this world with so much love! His big sister is so excited to meet him - and very concerned that he doesn't have a name yet. I am so looking forward to watching her with him. She is already very protective of him and his things, and really likes looking at the baby monitor to see his (empty) crib.

I promise, my belly sticks out pretty far, it's just hard to tell in scrubs!

How far along? 40 weeks!
Maternity Clothes? Mostly scrubs, but I love my maternity capris and am very comfortable in all comfy clothes. I have to wear Jordan's t-shirts if I'm going that route, most of mine do not cover (see above picture in scrubs!)
Stretch Marks? My belly button is ruined... there are very distinct stretch marks on the top and on the bottom of it.
Sleep? It comes and goes.
Best moments this week? Today was my last day of work!
Miss Anything? Wine...
Movement? He is still SO wiggly!! I'm actually pretty shocked he has much room to move at all. Some times I think he is going to bust out of my belly button (which is, I'm sure, why it's all stretched out).
Food Cravings? Not really
Anything make you queasy or sick? Nope!
Symptoms? I'm dilated to 2cm and am 70% effaced. Monday night into Tuesday morning I thought I was in labor... my contractions, though not all of them were painful, were about 10min apart consistently for awhile, but no baby!
Belly button in or out? Out
Linea Nigra? There is maybe a faint line very low...
Wedding ring on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time? I'm definitely happier than I was. I know I have my mood swings, though!
Looking forward to? Tuesday... if this little guy does not come before then, we are being induced on Tuesday. I'm honestly hoping for tomorrow ~ it's my BFF, Jenilee's birthday.

Reflecting back on this pregnancy I just can't believe how quickly it's gone by. This pregnancy has definitely been rougher than the first. Of course, I've had a 3-year-old to chase around, but I think that after having one baby, your uterus has sensitive spots or something. This guy will find places and push and it really hurts, a lot. I don't remember that with Abigail. Not to mention the fact that I was sick in the beginning and the heartburn! I'm pretty sure he is going to look like a little monkey when he is born, with dark hair all over his body. It's okay, I'll love him just the same, but I'm pretty sure that if the wives tale about heartburn is true, he's going to ~ Abby will even talk about heart burn. It's pretty funny! I haven't gained near as much weight this time, and for the most part it's all in my belly. At my appointment on Tuesday I was actually right on the upper edge of the "normal" weight gain, versus gaining way too much with Abigail! Jordan would tell you I've been extremely moody and mean. I know that to some extent I have been quicker to jump on certain things, but I'm also not as rested and I blame it on the testosterone :)

My bag is all packed and Abigail's gift is all ready to go, so little Mr. can come at any time!!

I can see clearly now...

A couple weeks ago I took Abigail to the eye doctor. I had my yearly eye exam and there is a program in KS (probably every state) that offers free eye screenings for kids once they turn 3. My eye doctor participates so I figured why not?

Never in a million years did I expect the to tell me that she would need glasses. Jordan has perfect vision and I didn't get my glasses till 8th grade.

Abby is far sighted and has an astigmatism that makes her slightly nearsighted.

She pickd out a pair of pink glasses, we ordered them, and they were too big. Luckily we were able to exchange them for a pair that fits better ~ these are purple with butterflies on the sides. I don't have any pictures of her in the purple ones, but she looks beautiful in the pink ones, too!

Abigail had her first dance recital today.  She did an amazing job ~ honestly, I was pretty impressed ~ and mommy kept it together pretty well. She started taking classes at Starstruck PAC last fall. We were blessed with a pretty amazing teacher, and Abigail made some good friends, too. She is the youngest duck in her class, so I was very happy with how well she did!

Abigail, you did an amazing job, and Mommy and Daddy are SO proud of you! Here's to many, many more years of dance recitals :)

A Lava Lamp...

Wow ~ 36 weeks and 4 days! It doesn't seem like it's possible to be this far along already. Time is flying by. The good news is that if little man decided to make his appearance today, we'd be ready!! And, for the record, I would like him to wait until next week, Monday or Tuesday (preferably Tuesday, we'll get to the whys later).

This weekend we took Abigail on some outings, just her and mommy and daddy, and on one of them I saw a lava lamp. I stared at it for a few moments and realized that I feel an awful lot like a human lava lamp... this baby does not stop moving. I think that nearly every moment he is squirming, hiccuping or rolling around. Most of the time it isn't uncomfortable, but there are moments!

Sleep? I wish I could get more... I have nights where I sleep great and only wake up once, but others I'm up every couple of hours and wake up more tired than I was when I went to bed!
Best moments this week? Our Memorial Day weekend! We went to Moon Marble Co., had friends over, visited friends, met baby Scarlett (the picture from 33 weeks was with her mommy ~ she arrived Sunday morning!), did a science experiment, went to Crown Center and had lots of time with Abigail!

Symptoms? I'm officially dilated!! I'm onto my weekly doctor's appointments and was checked today and I'm dilated to an "easy 1" ~ yea! That is a whole lot farther than I ever made it with Abigail, so I'm excited!!

Baby Update ~ 33 weeks!

Already? 33 weeks, already?? The time is seriously flying by! The good news is that, for the most part, we are ready. With the help of two aunts and both grandmas (not to mention an uncle and friends) we have the nursery put together and Abigail's new room is pretty much finished, too. {Pictures to come once the few things that need finished up are done}

How far along? 33 weeks, exactly!
Maternity Clothes? Still wearing scrubs all week, and normally comfy clothes on the weekend, but when we go anywhere I wear my awesome GAP maternity jeans! :)
Stretch Marks? Nope, although with Abigail they didn't show up until about a week AFTER she was born ~ Still the same!
Sleep? It's still hit and miss... last night I was awake every 3-4 hours... conditioning?
Best moments this week? Getting all of the trim up in Abigail's room and getting the nursery pretty much put together. Pictures to come once everything is all finished! AND ~ we had maternity pictures taken last Saturday. We had SO much fun with Kelsey and Dean!!
Miss Anything? Still breathing comfortably... I would have to add sleeping to this list, too.
Movement? Lots!
Food Cravings? Not really
Anything make you queasy or sick? Nope!
Symptoms? I'm had the round ligament pains and I'm having calf cramps at night. I also feel a TON of pressure down low... last Friday we saw Sara and little Mr's head is down and I definitely feel it. We weren't able to get any pictures because he would not cooperate and turn his head. He is apparently all ready to come out!
Belly button in or out? It's out now, I'm pretty sure.

Happy or Moody most of the time? I'm not sure about "most of the time", but I'm definitely moody and I don't like it!
Looking forward to? Sleep!! I hope to sleep "in" tomorrow, whatever that looks like. We've had people down the last two weekends helping us get the rooms painted and I've been up way too early!! That, and I plan to finish up Abigail's room this weekend.
