Swimming and swing!

Today was a day of firsts for Abigail... We bought her an adorable blow up pool and a swing. Before we went for a swim she was talking up a storm. Here's a short video of "dada!"

Love it!

She's back to constantly sticking out her tongue. Cutie!

My baby and me!

I think she enjoyed the pool, but the water was a bit cold at first... by the end she was splashing and kicking. Although she wouldn't lay down because it was still too cold.

She loves jumping and swinging in her jumperoo so much we thought she might love to swing in a real swing...

Yea!

Here's her first swing video...

Following in Daddy's footsteps?

She's Army crawling like a champ!

It's a GIRL!!

So in one of my last posts I stated that one of my very good friends from HS is preganant... she is due October 31st, so right after Abigail's 1st Birthday. I got a text today saying she's having a girl. YEA!! I'm really excited for them, and for Abigail. Instant friend :)

Abigail's new tooth!

We had an amazing long weekend! Friday night we went to dinner with our friends Julie and Cam. The introduced us to a great resturant in Brookside. Jordan and I loved it and Abigail did great. Wayne visited and he and Jordan took some pictures of Abigail Saturday morning.

Jordan and Abigail were playing on the couch and I looked over and saw this:

How cute are they??
Saturday Jordan and I cleaned and got ready for two cookouts. We went to a BBQ with one of Jordan's co-workers first and then one with my co-workers.
Brodie (who we babysat a couple weekends ago) was at the last BBQ and warmed up to us, quickly. Abigail talked to him and he enjoyed throwing the ball and playing catch with me.

Sunday one of my friends from graduate school came to visit. Her husband is graduating from dental school and they (and their daughter) will be moving to Conneticuit soon and decided to come to KC one last time. One of Jordan's fraternity brothers and his family also were in town and came over. We cooked out and then went to the WWI museum. All of the girls got a long and it was very cut watching them play.
My friend took Abigail's newborn pictures and got some great pictures of the girls playing. I'll have those pictures to post at later, I'm sure. Here are a few that I took... I'm no professional, keep in mind!

All weekend long I have said "Abigail's cutting a tooth"... well this morning I was no longer the only one who could feel it! Jordan felt the tooth, too! Woo hoo! It finally came through! I'm really excited, because all weekend long I could feel it, but everyone else told me I was crazy. I can't believe how fast these last seven months have flown by and that my baby girl has a tooth and is army crawling! I am enjoying every "stage" and moment so far. And, although I can wait for her to crawl, I can't wait for her to say "mama" and walk. (I know walk/crawl?! BUT She sticks everything in her mouth, so to me, walking seems less dangerous).

Happy Memorial Day!

To all the men and women who have served and are currently serving our country, thank you. Several friends of our family are, or have recently, been deployed and we are greatful for all of you.

I LOVE this amazing little girl...

Everyday Abigail does something to completely amaze me. Ite may be just her smile and happy disposition in the morning, or her ability to roll/scoot across the room in the time it takes me to put tooth paste on my toothbrush. I love how happy she is to greet Jordan when he gets home from work and how messy she is when she eats.

This week Jordan experienced a deviation from the norm. When he came home from work Wednesday night (he stayed at Whiteman and flew Tuesday night) there was no immediate smile from Abigail (from Mommy, yes, but who wants that smile when you can get a melt-your-heart Abigail smile?). He was crushed and approximately 2 seconds later she smiles at him and everything is okay in our world.

Every night Abigail has some baby food and cereal for dinner. As most of you know, she pretty much feeds herself, and has been since about a week after she started eating solid foods. I'm unsure if it is because she feeds herself, or if it comes naturally, but she makes such a mess!! She has recently started trying to get to the bowl/jar/tub while she's eating (I'm not sure if she wants to dip the spoon in or what ~ haha!). Mommy's rule is that after she's done eating (and the bowl/jar/tub is empty) she can play away! She loves chewing on the jars and banging the spoon in the bowl. It's kinda funny, but her least favorite time of the evening is getting cleaned up. SO all of this mess ends up creating a fairly unhappy baby in the end. All-in-all I think she loves meal time and I love how happy she is during 99.9% of it!

This weekend we traveled to Mercer. Jordan's cousin was graduating on Sunday and we finally had a little free time, so we figured we would spend it with Jordan's family. We always have a really enjoyable time and it's fun to watch Abigail and Mason interact. Abigail is sitting really well and they're intereacting "better". They both pretty much do their own thing, but every now and then they'll babble at eachother and try to steal eachother's toys. It's pretty funny and none of us can wait until they're really playing together!

Their first fight over a toy! I'm sure there are many more to come!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

We had an AMAZING weekend!

Friday night we attended the graduation party for a great friend. After four long, difficult years, she graduated with her Bachelor's of Arts in Spanish. Abigail had a great time, dancing and smiling at everyone. Here is a picture of her on our way home:

Saturday morning we woke up bright and early and Abigail's right eye was kind poofy. It still is, and we haven't completely figured out what's going on, but this evening it looked better, but still red. She kept on smilin' though! We seriously have the BEST baby!!

Good Morning!

My co-workers (the sworn officers) had mandatory training all day Saturday, so Jordan and I got to babysit Brodie, my friends' little boy. He is 15months old and I have no idea how anyone has two children! lol Okay, two children close together (at all!). Brodie is a great kid, both of them are, but it was a lot harder than I guessed it would be. Lunch time was the most difficult, and Jordan was even there to help out (for a little while, at least). Brodie really took to Jordan and any time he left the room Brodie wanted him to come back. My parents decided to come visit (which was great!). Here are a couple of pictures of our day:

I couldn't get them to both look at the camera!

This morning we went to lunch with my parents and then went to play kickball. On our way to kickball Jordan said we had to make a brief detour.
~ STORY TIME ~
When Jordan and I got married we had the diamond taken out of my engagement ring and put into my wedding ring. I always said how much I loved sapphires and would someday love to have a Sapphire put into my engagement ring setting.
Well... our brief detour took us to a jewelry store and THIS was my Mother's Day present:
So beautiful!!

I had to put the ring on my right hand to get a good picture... I couldn't take it with my left hand!

Here is a random picture from the week... I always smile when I go into Abigail's room in the morning. She's always squished in the corner, like this:
